The Bay Area's alternative station 105.3 throws an annual music festival named "BFD" at the Shoreline Ampitheater in Mountain View, California. The festival has been taking place since 1994 when Green Day, Beck & The Pretenders were the main acts. DJ AM played this festival two years in a row in 2008 & 2009 and, as you will see, crushed it both times with innovative mixing, all styles of music & deft turntable skills.
On June 6th, 2009, DJ AM played the BFD festival along with Offspring, 311 & The Yeah Yeah Yeahs as the main headliners.
This event was a really hype with a great crowd and Adam showcasing skills at the peak of his popularity. AM himself called this one of his best events ever on his Twitter page:
Adam wasn't exaggerating, the proof is in the pics & video:
The videos below further illuminate just how high energy & hype this event was. His use of the E-40 sample in the video below was both brilliant & creative:
Another vid showing how hype the crowd was backs up AM's earlier tweet:
AM also performed at the BFD festival in 2008. The 2008 edition of BFD featured Cypress Hill, MGMT, Moby, MSTRKRFT, and Steve Aoki performing along with DJ AM.
Judging by the photos & videos below, this one was just as hype as the 2009 edition!
We also have the audio for his 2008 festival set! The full 2008 BFD set has now been posted on the DJ AM Lives Mixcloud page and you can listen to it in full below:
